This is a lectionary for Sunday and festive readings according to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Tradition. It was published in 2005 by Yared Fenta and has 187 pages. In the preface Yared Fenta gives a literature review about previous lectionaries in the history of Ethiopia, with more precisions on those published in the 20th century. Both the preface and the introduction shows also the originality of this lectionary, namely its introduction of Old Testament readings. In fact, all the previous lectionaries which are used by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church offer readings from the New Testament only, except from the responsorial psalms. The proper order is as follows: 1. An Epistle of Saint Paul, 2. A Catholic Epistle, 3. The Acts of the Apostles, 4. The Gospel after the responsorial Psalm. Now, this lectionary offers readings from the Old Testament, before a reading of Saint Paul, taken into consideration the liturgical seasons. It is not clear whether any local church has started to practice according to this lectionary as far as the readings of the Old Testament are concerned.
